Principal skill(s) targeted: Short-term memory and development of mnemonic strategies
Short-term memory is defined as «A series of processes enabling active retaining of information necessary for carrying out cognitive activities» (Fortin & Rousseau, 1993). It should be noted that it has only a limited capacity in that it can hold only a limited amount of information at a time. Furthermore, by practicing recognition of familiar codes, the program favours the development and application of strategies to better retain information.
